Some cats feel the need to be outside, no matter what the weather. Often, they seek shelter inside a car’s engine. Each year, we see several “fan belt” kitties, injured when a person starts their car, unaware of the cat under the hood. It is always a good idea to thump the hood a couple of times, or even blast the horn before starting the engine. It may sound silly, but is saves lives.
