The American Kennel Club recently renamed their pet recovery service. Companion Animal Recovery is now known as AKC Reunite. Although they’ve updated their name, logo, and website, AKC Reunite still provides 24/7 assistance in reuniting registered lost pets with their owners. A microchip is rice sized, inserted under the skin, and the chip’s number can be obtained using a hand held reader.
Is it a good idea for your pet to be “chipped”? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Each year thousands of pets are lost and microchips are a way help pets to be reunited with their families. A one time enrollment fee will store your pet’s unique microchip number into a database, with round the clock access.
Have you moved recently or changed your cell number? Make sure that you provide AKC Reunite with your updated information. Visit them at akcreunite.org. It is something very simple you can do to help keep your pet safe.
